Mohamed Gaff is a fashion photographer and art director.

Julie Psaila : Hi Mohamed. Tell me a little about yourself.
Mohamed Gaff : Dear Julie, I’am a 23 years old photographer from Germany/Cologne. I was born in Iraq and raised in Germany at the age of 10. On the hunt for the power of authenticity. I believe in the magic of the moment and I like to create atmospheres with lots of effort that allow extraordinary magic to happen to my work.

How and when did you start photography?
As an autodidact, I started fashion photography in 2008. My head was always full of images. But I needed to photograph them to show you.

How could you define your style?
Dramatic fashion, provocative and emotionally.

For you what is a beautiful picture?
A picture isn’t about beauty. Pictures that I can feel are beautifull. It’s about everything. You can show in a picture the death in a beautiful way. It's all about how you see things. But I really like it when you play with the lights. It makes the picture “beautiful”.

What inspires you?
Music is the magic of my inspiration. I listen a song more then 100 times in a day. It gives me really a lot to create atmosphere in my pictures.

How could you define your personality?
People says I'm mysterious. I prefer wild but quiet.

What is your dream?
To wake up one day and saying “what a nice dream” life is great!

What are your plans?
I will definitely move out of German.
